India to Host 14th Annual Meeting of Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering at Kochi

The Government of India will host the 14th Annual Meeting and 10th Annual Technical Assistance and Training Forum of the Asia/Pacific Group (APG) on Money Laundering at the Le Meridien Hotel, Kochi (Cochin), Kerala, India, from 18th to 22nd July 2011.

The Union Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee would make the opening address on 19th July,2011 .

The APG Co-Chairs for this meeting are Shri K Jose Cyriac, Secretary to the Government of India; and Commissioner Tony Negus, Australian Federal Police.

More than 300 senior government officials from the Asia/Pacific region and around the world are expected to attend this event, including the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee and Mr Giancarlo Del Bufalo of Italy, President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The meeting will provide a platform for high-level discussion and co-operation, and will evaluate the progress made by APG members in implementing the international standards to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The size and range of participation demonstrates the continued commitment of APG members to combat these serious transnational crimes.
