Virat Kohli became the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year

The Vice-Captain of Indian Cricket team, Virat Kohli was named as the ODI Cricketer of the year at ICC Awards Function held at Colombo, Sri Lanka on 15 September 2012. He was picked ahead in the competition from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Kumar Sangakkara and Lasith Malinga. He was awarded with this title for scoring 1733 runs in 31 matches at an average of 66.65, which included eight centuries and six half-centuries. During this period of consideration for the title, he scored his career best of 183 runs in 148 balls against Pakistan in Asia Cup.

1. Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) - The ICC Cricketer of the year, ICC Test Cricketer of the Year and the People`s Choice Award
2. Richard Levi (South Africa) - The ICC Twenty20 International Performance of the Year
3. Daniel Vettori (New Zealand) - The Spirit of Cricket Award
4. Sunil Narine (West Indies) - The Emerging Cricketer of the Year
5. Stafanie Taylor (West Indies) - The Women`s ODI Cricketer of the Year
6. Sarah Taylor (England) - Women`s T20 Cricketer of the Year
7. George Dockrell (Ireland)- Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year
