Singham Bravery Awards

An Indian Police Service officer who was crushed to death by mining mafia in Madhya Pradesh and several security personnel who have laid down their lives fighting for the country were honoured posthumously with Singham Bravery Awards on October 20.
The awards, instituted by All India Anti-Terrorist Front led by M. S. Bitta, were handed over to the bereaved families by reel-life Singham Ajay Devgn, film-maker Rohit Shetty and former Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director-General K. Vijay Kumar.
Narendra Kumar, a 2009-batch IPS officer, was crushed to death under a stone-laden tractor trolley belonging to the mining mafia in Chambal district of Madhya Pradesh on March 8 while on inspection.
Receiving the award, his wife, IAS officer Madhurani Tewatia, remembered her husband as a “committed police officer” who was inspired by “icons” like Mr. Vijay Kumar.
