Fourth Convocation of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan

Fourth Convocation of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan was held in New Delhi.
In his presidential address Hon’ble HRD Minister Dr. M.M.Pallam Raju said an expert committee set up under the chairmanship of the former supreme court judge Dr. Mukundakam Sharma has submitted its report. The recommendation are under consideration. Lauding the role of Sanskrit, he said that it is not just a language, but a cradle in which culture and civilization has been merged. The Minister said this ancient language has traveled beyond boundaries of India and significantly contributed to development of world culture. The Hon’ble Minister suggested that Sanskrit education should be made more relevant by synthesizing the best practices of Gurukul system with modern democratic values. He appreciated the role of Sansthan in providing multi lingualism and cultural plurality by organizing the teaching and research with regard to Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit. 

Speaking on the occasion Justice Dr. Mukundakam Sharma said the Sanskrit is reservoir of a priceless heritage and valuable storehouse of sciences and knowledge systems which are for the benefit for the entire humanity. Quoting the former Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, Justice Sharma said that Sanskrit is the greatest treasure the India possesses and it is her finest heritage. Appreciating the steps taken by HRD Ministry in promotion of Sanskrit he said by setting up an expert committee to examine the recommendations made last year during World Sanskrit Conference, the Ministry has displayed its keen-ness to promote the cause of the ancient language of India. 

The vice chancellor Prof. Radha Vallabh Tripathi gave the steps taken by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan in promoting Sanskrit . 

More than 9000(Nine thousand) students received the award.
