Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign Inaugurated at Puducherry

Minister of State V Narayanasamy of Puducherry inaugurated the Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at Karaikkal, Puducherry on 1 September 2013. The Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign is the three-day information- cum- interactive sessions and exhibition. 

Apart from inauguration of this campaign, the minister also released a set of twelve booklets in Tamil depicting the various Bharat Nirnman schemes in simple Tamil. As a prelude to the inaugural function, colourful rallies were organised. Students from NSS, Junior Red Cross, Scouts and Guides took part in the rally. 

The exhibition being organised under the campaign is by Press Information Bureau in association with media units of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting along with Karaikal administration. The focus of the exhibition is on different issues such as rural development, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, NRHM, Janani Shishu Suraksha, women empowerment, PM’s 15-point programme for minorities’ welfare. During the exhibition, other focuses include initiatives like Unique Identification Card “Aadhar”, land acquisition, Direct Benefit Transfer scheme and many more. 

This is the 47th Public Information Campaign conducted in Tamil Nadu. The objective of the campaign is to highlight the various developmental and welfare programmes of the Union Government of India.
